A diver who was attacked by a shark off the UK coast has injured his leg and must be taken to hospital, the Coast Guard stated.
The sufferer was met by a rescue staff at Penzance Harbor in Cornwall on Thursday after a suspected shark chew.
Shark Assaults are very uncommon in UK waters and this would be the first report of accidents since 2018.
A spokesman for the Maritime and Coast Guard stated: “HM Coastguard has dispatched the Penzance Coast Rescue Staff to fulfill a diver suspected of being bitten by a shark.
“The Coast Guard was notified shortly earlier than 12.30pm on Thursday, July 28. It’s believed the swimmer suffered a leg harm.
“The Coast Guard met the sufferer at Penzance harbor to help in getting them into ambulance care.”

The native ambulance fee confirmed that paramedics have been known as to an incident on the coast in Penzance, and a affected person was taken to a hospital in Truro.
In 2018, a fisherman was was bitten on the leg by a shark after pulling the animal onto his boat off the coast of Cornwall.
